some parents need therapy.

For context, there's 29 states in India and 150 cities to each state on an average (I think, could be more). there's 2400+ std codes (to call landlines) assigned to cities across this country. no flipping way id remember or recognize all of em. I've lived in one city for all 21 years of my life, there's only 1 code i know. Whenever i had to call another person from a different city, it was always a mobile phone and never a telephone. I somehow never registered landline codes to different cities in my country.

Though I acknowledge and accept my ignorance towards this piece of information, I would never allow anybody to make me feel bad about not knowing this. Idk man, if someone didn't know something, id tell them so politely. would never make anyone make feel bad or little.

My father wanted to call my university, which happens to be in a different city, and asked me for their number. While I was reading the number out loud from my phone, he asks me if it's a mobile phone number or a landline number. I know it's a landline number but i just sit there and stare at his face completely blanked out. He starts screaming at me saying, "IT STARTS WITH 44 CAN'TYOU TELL IT IS A CHENNAI LANDLINE NUMBER? YOU'RE A FAILURE, WHAT WILL YOU EVER DO IN YOUR LIFE? YOU'RE SO DUMB, SO STUPID. SUCH A DISGRACE. YOU'RE JUST FLESH AND BONES, A FAT LUMP OF FLESH" .

I didn't like how he was screaming at me so I told him he can't expect me to know all the codes like that to which he replied, "If you talk to me like that, I will seriously beat you to pulp"

I'm sorry???? who was screaming at me for not recognising the code??? how tf can he say he'll beat me up? seriously, I am his child. how can he want or even picture beating me up like that? he's beaten me up so many times and God knows im not forgiving him for that.

You cannot lose your temper like that. You cannot be so egoistic. God I hate angry people.
