Idk what to title this question

So I am just curious if there is a name for if someone were to have an imaginary friend but then the imaginary friend becomes a physical independent entity. This is more of something that would happen in movies or TV I am assuming but I am just curious if in the world of paranormal or any other group along the similar lines, that has a name for this phenomena?
