Is it true that a youtuber saved this series from being cancelled?

I'm 90% I read on here once that the sales were low and it was going to get cancelled until a youtuber published a positive review that went viral and sales came back up and they let the book series finish, but I can't find the comment thread where this came up. Does anyone have a summary of this situation so I know this wasn't a fever dream I'm making up?
