What are your ALWAYS rules?

lady rant 🚺

I had a thought early this morning- half asleep, about how much ‘rules’ impacted my life and my siblings. We didn’t have a good childhood, and that’s a whole another impossible to tell it all vent, but we lived in a very very strict household at one point for a long period of time while teenagers. A typical I feel like parental rule and specifically for us was “no boys allowed unless for a short time in the day and NOT in bedrooms”… I listened to the rules but found ways around it and my sister LISTENED to the rules. Into 16teenagehood my sister started exploring her options about who she would choose to love, and based on that rule she went through a time where that was girls BECAUSE no boys could be in a room or with the door closed but that DIDNT apply to girls. Making it seem like the taboo bad option would be ‘boys’, right? So why is that a rule? I mean obviously to not have a baby, right?
I feel like that shouldn’t be “taboo” but rather informed and taught correctly. I would never ever as a mom now think that making your body go through amazing things that feel great is a bad thing- as long as you know and you’re smart and aware.

Now as a mom, I have rules and am so curious about other moms’ rules as well? SHARE SOME DOWN BELOW 😊
