My least favorite coworker got fired today

The guy sitting in front of me at work was always pretty hard to deal with , condescending, overly reactive, and he’d blow small issues way out of proportion.

A couple weeks ago I was working on a project and used some AI tools (acciowork + notion ai) to help clean up and sanity-check some data. Just normal productivity stuff. There was a small typo in one number, and he latched onto it immediately, saying my file had “a lot of issues” and even CCd my manager on the email.

Then he escalated it further and went to higher-ups claiming I wasn’t being “professional” for using AI tools and that the process was flawed. He was pretty worked up about it. Fast forward to this round of company restructuring , he ended up on the list. He didn’t really take it well and kept going up the chain to vent about it. Things escalated and he was eventually told to leave.

I wouldn’t say I’m happy he’s gone. His goodbye email was as extra as he always was. But sitting here looking at my clean inbox, I realized I haven’t felt this relaxed at work in months.
