How do you make peace with a delayed CA journey?

Rant

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but this thought has been stuck in my head for a long time now.

I was always that "academically strong" student. The one who was expected to clear everything on time. Through school and most of my studies, I rarely had to deal with a major academic setback.

Then CA Inter happened.

I failed one attempt. Nothing dramatic—just one failed attempt. I cleared in the next attempt with around 60% marks in May 2024, which is decent. On paper, everything looks fine.

But mentally, I haven't been able to move on from those 6 months.

If I had cleared that attempt, my CA Final attempt would have been in Nov 2026 and I could have potentially become a CA at 21. Instead, my attempt is now in May 2027.

I want to be clear that this is not about jealousy. Some of my friends are ahead of me today, and I'm genuinely happy for them. They worked hard and deserve everything they have achieved. This is more of a battle with my own expectations and the timeline I had imagined for myself.

I know many people lose years, not months. I know that six months is insignificant in the context of an entire career. I know all the logical arguments.

The problem is that logic and emotions don't always agree.

Sometimes I feel motivated and focused on the future. Other times I find myself replaying that result day and wondering how different things would have been if I had just cleared.

What's strange is that the failure itself doesn't hurt anymore. What hurts is the timeline I lost because of it.

For those who have gone through something similar in CA, how did you genuinely make peace with a delay in your journey?

Did you eventually stop comparing your timeline with the one you had originally planned?

And if you did, what helped?

I would appreciate honest answers, especially from people who were once obsessed with being "on time" in life and later learned how to move forward.

Sometimes I wonder if there's any way to compensate for those lost 6 months, or if the only option is to accept them and move forward....
