Help! UTSC enrolment question: 8.5 vs 9.0 credits

Question

I currently have 8.5 credits, and i didnt realize you need 9 credits to be considered a 3rd-year student and to be eligible for the 3rd-year priority period - ik that's on me. The difference b/w a 2nd year priority and 3rd year is about a week, but courses usually fill up on the first day they're open 😭

im currently stressing out rn because there's very few second sub session courses left to take and get the extra 0.5 and, unfortunately I won't be in Canada during exam period anyway because of prior commitments I can not change.

The thing is, the Registrar's website says that "in-progress summer courses effective June 9" count toward credits. So, if I enroll in a second sub-session course so that it counts toward my credits, then drop it AFTER I've already enrolled in my fall/winter courses, would anything happen? Would I lose my enrolled courses because I'd be back down to 8.5 credits?

Has anyone done this before? Ik this is so dumb and could've been avoided but I can't change the past, so looking for any opinions/help!!
