Looking for children’s horror books that take place in fantasy land

Most children‘s fantasy horror seems take place in modern day with the character falling into a fantasy world while biking to school, or getting lost in their backyard like Coraline or Alice in Wonderland. Are there any children‘s horror books that take place exclusively in fantasy world? Like a blacksmith‘s son encountering a haunted forest behind the castle, or a peasant boy who sees a monster in the village? Something like that?
