someone that read through my app said it was a bit AI-sounding

Granted, they didn't look too closely at my personal statement (which, to be clear, was written entirely by me), but they felt some of my activity descriptions sounded AI-generated. It's frustrating because every reflection came from my own experiences and the lessons I've accumulated over the years. If I use an em dash occasionally or structure a sentence around a list, it's because that's genuinely the clearest way I know to express the idea.

Will adcoms immediately think I used AI then if something sounds "too-good"? Like do I go back and make grammatical mistakes now?
