Self employed - proof of ongoing trading

Hi all,

My partner and I got married on April 30th and have been since gathering documents to apply for our spousal visa, we were in the mindset of doing ourselves.

My sponsor is self employed and for the 2025/2026 tax year clears the financial threshold comfortable. The accountant who was meant to verify their accounts suddenly stopped communicating. We chased but nothing, so had to instead find someone else and start from scratch, right now still waiting on the letter of confirmation and accountant equivalent of the SA302 (not confident we will receive the HRMC version any time soon). This has now caused a significant delay for us...

My sponsor has been abroad with me this whole time, wedding, honeymoon etc. - their last bank statement with evidence of ongoing trading is now from April.

Could we still submit asap with the April bank statement as evidence of ongoing trading? Or will this not be sufficient enough? She also has a letter from her agent outlining their ongoing working agreement.

This delay has caused my partner significant distress as they feel the accountant issue has jeopardised our timeline.

Thanks any support in advance!
