Am I playing with fire?

🙋‍♀️Question🙋‍♂️

Happy to have found this forum. No one else I can share with.

This is a bit of a general rant. Needed to get it out.

A couple of years ago, a group of friends and I went out of country for a music festival. Some people I knew, some were just acquaintances. One of the acquaintances and I started chatting with each other. Good flow, heavy attraction, and next thing I knew we are sneaking off and heading back to the hotel every day we were there. Tons of sexual chemistry, and overall a really fun girl to be with. (There was lots of drinking and tons of bands playing so the remainder of the group was none the wiser.)

After our weekend away, we told each other that we cannot bring this back home with us. We saw each other at other shows here and there, but kept it respectful. Her and I were never really close, so we kept up that appearance with our mutual friends for the last 2 years.. up until a week ago. We were at a show, her husband was present, and she kept staring at me and sending me flirty messages. At first I chalked it up to her having a couple too many drinks, and left it at that. But, the next day she continued. I played into them, and now we’ve agreed to meet to continue this.

We are both in LTR, but I’ve come to figure out that she despises her husband and I have a feeling that this is going to end poorly, for both sides. Aside from a DB in my relationship, my wife is perfect. We have a lot of fun together, always have, we don’t fight, we have (what appears to be) a healthy relationship. I’ve never been suspected of cheating, nor do I plan to start now.

Now that this has extended to our home city, I can’t help but feel anxious and I feel that the safest way to proceed is to call this off? I’m no stranger to the odd one night stand on the road. But, never in my home city, and never with someone I have mutual friends with.

Would this be a red flag to anyone else or am I looking too deep into it? Someone who is constantly tearing down their partner. It’s giving me the impression that in the heat of an argument that a bombshell would be dropped in spite.
