Fitting salicylic acid into my current routine
Hello!
I struggle a lot with large pores, and my face is very sensitive to moisturizers, so I get sebaceous filaments easy and they are very easy to spot on my face. I’ve heard salicylic acid can help with this, so I’m trying to figure out the appropriate way to use it with my current setup.
I’m trying to keep my routine as bare-bones as possible due to time and money constraints, so I’m not looking for other products to pair with this new addition.
I currently do a double cleanse in the mornings with Byoma milky oil cleanser, and CeraVe hydrating foaming oil cleanser (contrary to the name, the cleanser is water-based, meaning the water is the main ingredient. I beg not to argue with me because people got mad at me on a previous post here for this even though online sources and derms confirm this). At night, I use the CeraVe by itself. Both morning and night after cleansing, I use peach slices moisturizer. That is my entire routine.
So, I know that salicylic acid cleansers should only be used max 2-3 times a week and should be worked in slowly. My impression with fitting it into the routine is that on the days I use it, it would “replace” my cerave in my routine whichever part of the day I decide to use it, but I want confirmation on that because I’m not entirely sure.
So, does it matter if I use it in the morning or night? Any products that y’all recommend, preferably something that Ulta carries? I’m thinking about just using cerave’s salicylic cleanser but I wanted to see if anyone disliked it before I committed.
Thank you!
