Items Prohibited in Dorms?

Hey! I’m an incoming freshman and was wondering if bringing a mattress topper was okay (aka. Do most people get away with it?). I actually prefer a harder mattress, but I do think the ones in the dorm will be a little too hard for my preference. I saw the past Reddit posts, and it seems like they’ve been more strict on it recently (checking under blanket, etc.), so not sure if it’s worth the risk.

Also does anyone know if we can bring in like a bamboo/wood tray? Just wanted to put it on my desk for some beauty/perfume products but on the website, it says that every storage bin has to be metal/plastic. Don’t know if that tray counts but you never know.

Thanks a lot!
