Stop telling people to exercise. It’s bad advice that just makes you more depressed.

I didn't join a gym because I didn't want to waste money on something I wasn't sure I would stick with. Instead, I started walking 40 minutes every morning. It has been two weeks and I haven't noticed a single positive thing. The only thing it has done is make me constantly hungry.

I used to skip breakfast, but now I do. That means I’m eating more than I’m actually burning, so I feel worse than I did before. Is that even considered a exercise? I don't know. When you start exercising it's hard not to compare yourself to other people and realize how far behind you are.

I hadn't checked my step counter in two weeks but I looked at it today. It shows that I average about 4000 steps a day which is basically sedentary anyway. I would rather stay in bed and be sedentary than walk 4000 steps just to end up exhausted for the rest of the day. I’m so drained that I end up resting the entire day after my walk. (And yeah, I don't have a job, I'm leeching off my parents right now.)

I’m quitting today. It’ll actually help me cut calories since I’m going to stop eating breakfast again. Seriously, don't exercise. it sucks. You're just going to compare yourself to others, feel pathetic about how weak you are, and end up eating more. It’s way better to just hang out in bed than to be sweaty and tired outside for no reason.

I am done with this. I already feel happier just from deciding to quit. Back to the gaming subreddits for me. At least they don't pretend they can fix my life.
