Needing to vent

VENT

Ttc 3 years. 34F. In May did my first egg retrieval for IVF. We got 2 euploids, but 1 is a day 7 embryo and then we got one low level mosaic. Basically we have 1 good one and 2 iffy ones so I’m gonna do another egg retrieval and of August. But I just feel sad that this is even the case. We’re doing another one for family planning reasons as we always wanted more than one kid (and this is still us trying for our first).

I just feel frustrated because my family and friends don’t get it. They’re like just try transferring them then see. But they don’t get that 34 year old eggs are gonna be better than my eggs 3 years from now if we do ivf again. And they just assume a transfer of an embryo will mean we get a baby when that’s not the case either. And I even got told I should just transfer one and have a baby cause after that I’ll be “more fertile” to have kids naturally.

I just feel like everyone around me (cause no one’s done ivf) is so ignorant to it and they’re so lucky to be ignorant to it. They can just plan when they want a kid, plan when they want another kid, and have a plan that they can feel confident will work, whereas I now need to be cautious this summer to get good sleeps, not drink much, eat decent, etc to hopefully get more euploid embryos. It just feels so unfair and I’m feeling disappointed.

I know I was praying for luck when we did this last retrieval cause I was hoping we would get like 5-6 euploid embryos and be good to start transferring. I felt so close to the next step and now I just feel back to square one. Why did I think we would get lucky? Why did I think things would work out how I wanted it to for once? I’m just tired.
