Upgrade Offer Gold to Platinum if you hold Schwab Platinum

Say you hold both Schwab Plat and Amex Gold. Will upgrade offers to Vanilla Platinum be suppressed on your Gold card because you hold the Schwab Platinum?

Note: to clarify even though the title is pretty clear, this post is not asking about SUBs. A SUB and upgrade bonus are two completely different things. SUB is when you apply for a new card, I am asking about product changing/upgrading Green --> Gold --> Platinum . You keep the same card number , the same account. No SUB is involved, though an upgrade offer is similar to a SUB , with points after a spend requirement
