Student Visa 500 - Master of Teaching student looking for work
Hi everyone,
I'm an international student currently in my first year of a Master of Teaching (Secondary) in Victoria. I recently started working as a casual educator with Camp Australia, but I'm finding it difficult to get enough shifts consistently.
As a student visa holder, I need to maintain around 48 hours of work per fortnight to support my living expenses, and at the moment I'm struggling to reach those hours through OSHC alone.
I'm hoping to find part-time or casual work that is relevant to education and could also help me build experience for my future teaching career. So far I've considered roles such as:
- Education Support / Teacher Aide
- Learning Support Officer
- OSHC Educator
- Exam Supervisor
Has anyone been in a similar situation while studying teaching? What types of education-related jobs would you recommend for a pre-service teacher that are realistic to get as an international student?
I'd also appreciate any advice on where to look for these roles or organisations that regularly hire teaching students.
Thanks in advance!
