how feasible is a motherboard upgrade

i have had my my asus tuf f15 fx507 (rtx 4050 i7-12700h) for a while now and over the years it has gotten some damage and i have decided to fully refirbish it new covers, keyboard, 165hz screen from 144hz and now i am wondering if i should buy an upgraded motherboard with an rtx 4070 card i know at this point you are wondering why don't just buy a new laptop but the thing is i live in zimbabwe where local supply is really low and shipping a new one would most likely add 50% to the cost. If anyone knows exactly where i can find motherboard replacements, please help, because so far i can only find one RTX 4060 variant for $600, which is already cheaper than buying a new laptop. To the people who have handled such a project, how did it go??
