Unity in DistroShelf / Arch
Wondering if anyone has been able to successfully run Unity Hub / Unity engine in a manner similar to what was described in this post about a year ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bazzite/comments/1m2eqt0/setting_up_unity_development_environment_issues/
I was able to install both Rider and Unity Hub installed and able to export. Rider runs fine (no big shock since it's a pretty simple app). Unity Hub, on the other hand, just changes the cursor briefly to the Unity logo, then terminates. Not even sure how to debug it, or even if I did, if I'd have anywhere near the skill / knowledge to get it working. Wondering if need to do stuff like this in BazziteDX rather than normal Bazzite or if I need to switch to a more flexible distro like Redhat or Ubuntu (I know Unity recommends Redhat and Epic recommends Ubuntu).
Trying to see if I can fully move off windows for most of my gaming and development work, so trying to figure out what I can get to work. On the pure gaming / basic apps, it's been a dream to work with.. But this is where I expected it to get challenging, and sure enough, it is. I'm going to post and try my hand at getting Unreal running while I wait to see if anyone has guidance, but.. appreciate how supportive and knowledgeable this community has been for the past year as I've mostly lurked.
