Advice

I am currently a Director of Finance and Admin for a nonprofit of a staff of staff under 15. I’ve been at the company for 5 years. I currently do budgeting, forecasting, our audits, tax return, present financials to the F&A committee, help the outsource accountants with month end close, manage company investments (which we didn’t have when I came on), Payroll, all HR related work. Salary is $107,000 with bonus in HCOL area.

Previously office manager at a medical office (did some accounting, tax, audit, AP/AR, HR, Payroll work).

I report to Chief of staff, but currently (CEO/President) has been coming down on me about my work ( CEO/President is perfectionist and changes her mind a lot) and decision making ( wants be on the balcony but keeps getting back into the weeds, I am told I have the authority to make decisions but then I get scolded when I make them (none have cost the company $)

I don’t like to be micromanaged and the chief of staffs managing style isn’t micromanaging.

Should I ride it out or look for another job? If I were to look for another job, what’s en equivalent position I can transition to or should I look for the same role ( I do like what I do but rather do more finance then Admin)?

Thanks in advance!
