Recommendations for next read (listen)
Hey everyone,
I would love some recommendations for my next listen. This year I’ve done the following:
-Evan’s Third Reich trilogy
-Evan’s Pursuit of Power
-Clark’s Sleepwalkers
-McPhearson’s Battle Cry of Freedom
-Asbridge’s Crusades
-Shrirer’s Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
-Bauer’s History of Ancient World
-Popkin’s a New World Begins
-Wilson’s Thirty Years War
I generally am longing for a longer read (or moreover listen via Audible). I can do wherever in terms of time or topic though tend to favor US or Europe in a post-medieval setting but am more than happy to read a non-Western, ancient, medieval, etc. I like something academically respected and detailed, but still well written and narrated. Things I am considering:
-What Hath God Wrought (Howe)
-Grant (Chernow)
-The Pursuit of Glory
-something about WWI itself
Any thought?
