…and then go back to episode 1. The first time we see city council meeting, Patricia calls out Rosemary’s colorblindness to Tom. Thats not a throwaway line, no no. Rosemary not being able to see blue the way everyone else sees blue matters, especially when you’re trying to hide from OR find someone.

Now, remember in episode 6 when Richard kills his almost assassin? That man should not have survived. We see Richard get stabbed repeatedly but somehow we’re just expected to believe that he lives AND is able to kill his attacker?! Nah fam, we saw bones in that boat casket…he may be freakishly strong like bear but he’s not immortal.

After Richard kills the dude he goes to Sarah and tells her that he will find the person responsible for trying to get him killed because he knows (and thus tells Sarah) that nobody can leave the island until the curse is broken. Well yes, but one COULD attempt to disguise themselves long enough to find someone else naive enough to finish the job with respect to offing Richard, especially if the prey can mimic the color that the predator can’t see. I don’t know enough about colorblindness to know if colors besides blue would be affected with Rosemary’s type, but it’s possible it could make it difficult to distinguish between other colors (which would then make sea travel with all its signal lights) far more difficult.

Pay attention to the color palettes, especially when you are seeing scenes with Evan and his friends or when there is a group of 5 characters together. Five Warren kids, 5 wolves in the calendar before the page with the car crash…all these packs of 5. Always 1 in mainly shades of red, 1 in mainly navy blue, 1 in yellow and pale blue, 1 in green, 1 in purple, and 1 in drab black/white. The patterns (stripes, florals) changes too. The changes are subtle obviously, but once you see it, you can’t unsee it and when you see these changes happen in seemingly the same scene maybe it will lead you to the conclusion I’ve made:

We’re watching 2 different versions of the same weekend. In one version, something went wrong with ending the curse. Someone, a “trickster” if you will (cough, cough sea hag) was so good at hiding in plain sight that they were able to convince someone else to make the wrong choice. In the other version, our good guys are trying to find them first.

Pay very close attention to the colors each character wears in tonight’s episode (ep. 8)…
