Is Pragmata worth full-price for someone who is poor?

[PC]

I’ve been internally struggling about whether to purchase Pragmata or hold off until a sale.

I’m currently living paycheck to paycheck, so disposable income is rare to come by and usually disappears when a random cost pops up. However, I managed to save up enough money to consider purchasing Pragmata, yet I find myself struggling with whether or not to go through with it. I’d really appreciate some honest feedback to help me make the decision because, unfortunately, the full game price is a big purchase for me at the moment, and I’m not sure if this money would better go towards something else or maybe even some other games I’ve been eyeing when they go on sale later this month on steam.

I’ve played the demo, so I know I enjoy the atmosphere and gameplay. I also have been reading a lot of comments on here, as well as other subreddits, so I feel like I kind of got an idea of what people said (while desperately dodging spoilers).

My biggest thing is story. This story seems like it will absolutely something that hits a soft spot with me, which is why I am considering the purchase. I have a pretty horrible relationship with my father, so, in a way, I really enjoy heartwarming stories. For reference, the relationship between Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us was kind of healing. I also tend to like stories that make you think and/or can be analyzed, but based off what I read (and all the Resident Evil games I played), I doubt I will find that from a Capcom game.

I’m also interested in replay-ability, but from a story-stand point. I know a lot of gamers look for unlockables or gameplay features when they replay games, but for me I focus on story. This is because my main hobby and biggest passion in life is language learning, and I noticed Pragmata is one of the few titles that interest me to offer audio in my target languages. Usually this means that there is some alternate endings or extra files with a new game+, etc. (think of like Silent Hill F, where the New Game+ not only unlocked new endings but also had a ton of completely different reading materials).

Which also brings me to my next question – how are the cinematics and the files around the games. Resident Evil is one of my favorite franchises, but I always found it to be more focused on gameplay over reading (and arguably world building too). Is it safe to assume Pragmata is the same?

Thank you for reading this + your potential responses! I appreciate it!
