I utilized code during surgery
BLUF: Claude code user experience is magic.
Yes the title is as it suggests. I arrived two hours early for surgery that i knew was going to be fairly involved. I had set up my computer at home with /remote-Control so I could remote in from my Claude app. I was in the middle of a UX overhaul working with my design team when the nurse came in and stuck me with the IV. Naturally, I don’t do well with needles so I began going in and out of consciousness and passed out (Claude code still running) . Then I woke up and picked up where I left off.
Pause: To people say that I am addicted to Claude code, I don’t deny that. However, I needed a way onto fixate my brain on something outside of what was going on because I don’t doom scroll or anything.
I was able to work for another hour until they started to introduce other things through IV for procedure prep. The beautiful thing is that I gave Claude code a full to-do list as juices were flowing (probably wasn’t the best) and it completed the ENTIRE to-do list with a full summary and prototype for my review which I was able to resume through the voice accessibility feature.
