3D Turning itself off?

Today, after alt+tabbing out for an extended period, I switched back to OOTP to open some Perfect Team packs. The game told me that 3D was disabled, so I got no animations. I tried switching it back on, and the game ignored my changing the setting. I have, seemingly at random, got that setting to stay enabled, but the game immediately crashes. I have tried switching 3D back on in the league side of the game, but the problem exists there as well.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the problem? Any help would be appreciated.
