I want to travel by boat

I love to travel and I have alot more free time then most people, i'm just a single dude with not much commitments, I have really for a long time wanted to travel via a boat but im not sure if im ready to buy my own boat (and learn how to care for it). I am wondering if anyone has experiences with charting boats. I have this idea in my head that it would be so cool get on a boat and like 2 months later be in a new country. Dose anyone have any experiences with this. Currently im thinking of planing a trip to Brazil but really anyone experiences would be cool to hear
