New to the game

So I just started after playing OSRS for a long time. I've been following the activity thing and have really been enjoying it but was wondering, do I keep following that? And if so when do I stop? Or should I just go and explore and do whatever I want?

Any tips are appreciated and honestly can't wait to dive in deeper
