Are we just rolling with less sleep during regressions?!
My LO is 4.5 months and is all in all been a decent night sleeper since ~ 8 weeks. For awhile now, we put her down around 9PM (this is just what works for us and her!), she wakes around 5AM for a quick feed, then back to sleep until 7:45/8ish. She typically falls asleep during the feed, I put her back in her crib easy peasy…
Recently, not the case - she’ll wake up around 5AM and babble/roll around, suck her hands etc for 15 mins and then cries for food. I feed her, but she’s WIDE AWAKE. I’m talking eyes glowing, smiling at me while eating, reaching up playing with (aka scratching) my face. And then she’s just uninterested in going back down - today I walked/rocked/shushed/patted her in my arms for 45 mins for her to go back to sleep, and she only slept for another 40 mins. With going to sleep at 9pm, that’s only 8.5 hr of total sleep when she typically averages 10.5hr - 11hr.
During these regressions, are we just rolling with them getting less sleep?? If she’s supposed to sleep ~14 hours a day no way I can have this girl nap 5hrs to make up that time, I can barely get her to do 30 min naps nowadays! I used to be able to rescue naps easily but same thing as nighttime now, I go in after 30 mins, pick her up and it takes ~20 mins to get her to fall back asleep when it used to take 5 mins.
Wake windows are usually 1.75/2/2/2.5 with 4 naps, ~3.5hr of naps total.
Any advice?? Anything I can be doing differently?! I’m so lost!
