updates causing screen to go black and force me to hard shutdown

past 2 updates have had the same issue occur, first they'll warn me they're updating like normal but then after it finishes my screen just shuts black and no inputs on my keyboard seem to do anything which causes me to need to shut off using the power button on my computer, also when its back on it seems to delete the amd software making me have to re-download it (also last time i tried just repairing with the amd installer it seems to happen again a bit after, only thing fixing it being a full factory reset)
