TW: brief mention of DV

Hi! First time posting here.
Context: I (20) met this girl Maya/ fake name (21) 2 years ago at college. I needed a ride to campus because it's an hour away from where we live and from then we were pretty good friends since she was driving us every weekend.

We then met 4 other girls at college and 2 (Lexi & Kate(20)/fake names) of them started riding with us.
Then, we noticed she was starting to either downplay or contradict everything we would say when having a normal everyday convo. It started to get really annoying and since I didn't have my drivers licence I couldn't just use my own car or public transport because trains don't stop there and buses are rare and really ealry and didn't fit my schedule.

I got my drivers licence, started driving those two friends and we hadn't had to go with Maya almost all of the school year (Lexi and Kate sometimes did bc our schedules didn't line up) and distanced ourselves from her. And then, about two days ago my car had been having some issues and Lexi said we should go with Maya to our lesson. We arranged everything and I told Lexi to not tell her ab my car issues bc I knew Maya was going to lecture me on it... GUESS WHAT HAPPEND πŸ˜€

I was extremely tired that day bc I barely slept the night before, I had to call the police on some neighbors because of DV. Only slept 2 hours, I had to do 4 art activities with 18 preschool children that morning and they overwhelmed me BAD.
Anyway, I finished about 4.5 hours later and Maya picked Lexi and me up in a parking lot.

I was absolutely drained. I told them what had happened that day and with my car. Maya ofc started "diagnosing" what was the problem with my car and asking specifics even though I hadn't taken it to the mechanic + I do not know what part of my car is on the lower bottom fucking side of it. And she just acted like she was a professional mechanic. I brush it off.

Then we were talking about a kid I was babysitting and she was telling me how I was wrong about continous meltdowns he was having. I brush it off.

We sat down at a cafe for 2 hrs before our lecture, talked about uni a little, and then I we got on the topic of TV shows. I was naming shows I liked and she made a comment along the lines of "omg every show is ur favourite." in a really sarcastic tone. I corrected her saying I only mentioned one fictional and one reality show were my favourites. This started an argument over if there was a difference between the two types of TV shows where, by her standards, there is ABSOLUTELY no difference (she likes netflix originals). I brush this off too.

Then I showed them my list of old animated movies from my childhood thinking we could relate on some. Both of them trashed my list saying "wtf were you watching?","what kind of childhood did you have?", mind you, this was the reaction to 'Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl'. I got annoyed, but didn't say anything other than "what?" bc why can u not ask normal questions if something is new to you instead of completely shitting on things that are not based on your interests in particular? you know? like A NORMAL CONVERSATION YOU HAVE WITH FRIENDS??? I. BRUSH. IT. OFF.

We went to class, I was so tired by then I only talked if needed. We started talking to this girl in front of us and she mentioned classes ending, I said "yeah, our classes got moved a lot these past two weeks" and they gave a look, started laughing, said I was "so lost" and I asked what was wrong to which I got no reply. My eye is starting to twitch.

then I saw an old friend, who had been pregnant and I was waiting for her to tell me the news even though I'd known for very long. I had to pretend I didn't know and I congratulated her. They asked how I didn't see her bump and commented how I was "in my own world" and LAUGHED AT ME😜😜😜😜.

Later, we had to do an excercise with the girls behind us, Maya had a contrary take on every suggestion given by the girls, when my turn came, I stated something that happened in the kindergarten I was working at, where, essentially, the mother was bringing her child in even though that was the day they had therapy for autism. She had to contradict it somehow by saying the mom was probably taking him after school or on another day. The school must know, esspecially if the child has special needs, when their therapy is or when they'll be absent. hellooo, common sense?? I was so anxious by the end of the 4 hr lesson and my whole body was in pain.

On the way home I closed my eyes and didn't talk until she dropped us off, Lexi asked what we had to pay Maya for the ride, and they were talking ab what bank service they use. I guess they asked for mine but I was so out of it I didn't hear. Again, laughing and saying how I'm lost?? i didn't fucking hear your boring ahh question sorry. Lexi and I got out, I asked what the fuck was wrong with them (bc Lexi isn't usually like this) and she was confused about it.

I get making jokes with your friends, laughing on eachother accounts and banter (if it's actually funny). Idk if you can read this and feel what it was like but to me it was absolute torture. I was visibly tired, you're annoying me and constantly laughing at me.
I didn't mention many more smaller situations that occurred that day (or past stories), these were the ones that kinda stayed with me.

Idk what to do here, stay silent and distance myself or confront them both? Please keep in mind I always tried to be nice to Maya, sometimes i would slip up and say something condecending in return trying to fight her contrarian nature but never with any ill intent. My dislike for this girl is growing by the day now.

Tell me if I'm overreacting or in the wrong here and thank u so so much for reading sexy ;)
