A glimmer of hope.. maybe?
Hi friends, you all have been super understanding and supportive throughout this past month of what has honestly been hell for me, so I thought I would share something positive.
So I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia as well as ankylosing spondylitis at the beginning of this month. I also ended up needing a very painfully impacted wisdom tooth removed like a week after (and wound up with dry socket.. no I don't smoke) AND got my fallopian tubes removed.. all while planning my oldest child's birthday party. So yea, it was A LOT. I sent myself straight into a flare, did not pass go, did not collect $200.
Now, the positive part? Maybe?
I started Humira (a biosimilar.. shit's expensive..) today, and for the first time in a long time, I have a little bit of hope that my chronic pain may actually get better. Obviously this is kind of a wait and see kind of thing, but I'm actually looking forward to doing stuff with my kids this summer, like maybe the fun momens aren't going to be tainted by me being in pain and having to bail out early because I can't handle it. I just want my life back.
