I cannot understand why anybody uses DoorDash, especially reading the posts on this sub.
I have used DoorDash exactly once in my life, and it was only because a friend gave me a gift card. Even then I winced spending the rest of the gift card on delivery charges and a tip, since the food was also already inflated.
I just read the post about the driver leaving someone's food on the side of the road because of an address issue. It got me thinking; is the convenience really worth it?
I recognize I'm probably in the minority, but I genuinely don't understand it. You know who has never left my food on the side of the road? Me, after picking it up. If I'm already hungry enough to order food, isn't it easier and cheaper to just spend 10–15 minutes driving there and picking it up myself?
For those of you who use DoorDash regularly, what makes it worth the extra cost and headaches**?**
EDIT: Okay so I understand the fact that most users don't run into issues so a lot of what we're going to see on this sub are the complaints. As they say, a happy customer tells a few people, an unhappy customer tells everyone. But let's remove that part. Is the money paid for inflated cost of product, plus service charge, plus tip worth it?
