Question: Towing Capacity When Pulling A 4–Wheeled Wagon

Question

I built a chicken coop on a large 4 wheeled wagon. By adding up the approximate weight of all the components and the wagon frame, I estimate the weight of the whole thing to be about 2,000 lbs.

I intended to buy a utility vehicle to pull this and many top out at 1000-2000 lb tow capacity. It costs significantly more for a machine with the 2500 tow capacity I was shooting for to pull the coop without overworking the machine.

However, I can easily move this thing myself with one arm and a bit of effort. If I lean on it with all my weight it will start to go.

Since it has 4 wheels, it has virtually no tongue weight at all. It also moves so easily. Everything I read says it doesn’t matter, towing capacity is towing capacity. What am I missing here? Can I get away with a less powerful machine? I’m just going to be pulling this thing around my property at a snails pace 5-20 yards at a time to keep the chickens on fresh grass. Seems like overkill to get a top end machine for this when I could realistically move it by hand if I really wanted to.
