Need advice on Renting. Have never rented a property before.

As the subject states, I have never rented a property before. So I want advice on what I should expect while trying to rent my first property. Would appreciate advice on avg rent for 2 bhk, documentation needed, security amount?, type of contract, utility charges and anything else you think might be important.
