First time home purchase was the worst idea
I'm 20, bought my first home at 19 with a VA loan and it was a big mistake. It wasn’t eligible to be sold under a VA loan (which we didn’t know until after the home inspection)due to the homes foundation. So, the seller added $25K to the loan for 'fixes' (to uplift the homes foundation, plus fix the cracks from uplifting the home + roof). I ended up closing on $219K instead of the original price. My husband got discharged from the army soon after, leaving us trapped in this house we can’t afford or sell easily. Turns out - The ‘repairs’ weren’t done right :( the biggest crack is still there (worsening), doors won't close properly due to shifting floors… basically everything he promised was half-assed or not fixed at all. I just want OUT but have no idea how to handle this legally/financially as a clueless young buyer stuck in KILLEEN of all places. What can or should I do?
