Dolomites in September
My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy in mid-to-late September and are considering spending 5 days in the Dolomites (along with Rome and Florence or Sicily).
For those who have visited around 3rd or 4th week of September:
- How was the weather overall?
- Did you get many rainy or cloudy days?
- Were the major cable cars/lifts (Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, Col Raiser, etc.) still operating? Based on my research, it looks like we'll be OK.
- Would you recommend 5 days in the Dolomites at that time of year?
I've been to the Swiss Alps several times and know mountain weather can be unpredictable, so we're trying to decide whether the Dolomites are worth prioritizing on this trip.
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
