Replacement windows with 17.5” opening.

I hate my windows but they were only installed just before we bought the house. They are the inserts and the screen track at the back limits opening to 17.5” approx. any ideas on window units? I got the Midea 12k ushaped one and it’s blocked by that (plot twist I’m going to alter one window to make it fit but don’t want to do them all).

Ideally looking for programmable inverter or dual inverter. I have single hose acs now and they are trash. Trying not to stick with portables if I don’t have to, same cost as a doubly efficient window unit.
