1 week post op. What can I reasonably do right now?

Had my MD on 5/26 (L5/S1) and I’ve been up and walking for the most part since (also spending a lot of time in bed, mostly out of sheer boredom). My surgical pain subsided around day 3 and then my sciatica returned around day 4. I know the return of nerve pain is normal and it’s not nearly as bad as it was before. My problem is IM BORED. My apartment is messy and I’m a clean freak. I also hate asking for help but I have been appropriately.

What can I realistically do right now? Can I wash dishes? Can I cook? Can I change my bed sheets on my own?

My postop nurses said “if it hurts don’t do it” and a lot of things don’t necessarily hurt but I don’t want to overdo it. I’m also reading so much conflicting advice like move as much as you can and also to be on strict rest with occasional walking. I don’t want to call my neurosurgeons office just to ask if I can do a household chose 😭

I don’t feel like I was given a ton of guidance after surgery. Just no BLT basically. I feel like the meme of John Travolta in Pulp Fiction looking around confused with his coat. Basically “what do now?” 😂
