(New Here? Read This First) What Makes r/IslamicForum Different? (Q&A)

PinnedQuestions

Many Islam-related communities on Reddit do a great job at serving their members, but some users feel hesitant to participate because they worry about having posts removed, questions dismissed, or being banned simply for holding a different opinion.

The goal of r/IslamicForum is to create a space where respectful discussion comes first.

What does that mean?

  • Muslims and non-Muslims are welcome to participate.
  • Questions are encouraged, including difficult or controversial ones.
  • Different Islamic viewpoints may be discussed.
  • Respectful disagreement is allowed.
  • We do not officially endorse any particular school of thought, movement, or interpretation.
  • People will not be banned simply for expressing an opinion, asking a question, or disagreeing with others.

Of course, this does not mean "anything goes." Reddit's sitewide rules still apply, and content that includes personal attacks, hate speech, harassment, threats, spam, or obvious bad-faith trolling may be removed.

Our goal is not to create an echo chamber. Our goal is to create a community where people can learn from one another, exchange ideas, discuss Islam openly, and engage in productive conversations.

Whether you're a practicing Muslim, a convert, someone exploring Islam, or simply curious to learn more, you're welcome here.
