Applied for UNSW RTP Scholarship — how competitive is it without a distinction?
Hi everyone,
I recently applied for the RTP scholarship at UNSW Law & Justice for a PhD degree. I have already secured two supervisors, and both of them have said that my research proposal is excellent. As far as I know, everything in my application is complete, and I am now waiting for the final decision/release in July 2026.
My main concern is that I do not have a distinction average. However, I graduated from a reputable university in the UK, and I believe I have a strong overall profile. I have been involved in a range of extracurricular activities, especially law competitions, and I also have two book chapter publications.
I am wondering how competitive the RTP scholarship is at UNSW Law & Justice, especially for applicants who may not have a distinction average but have strong supervision support, a solid proposal, publications, and extracurricular achievements.
Does anyone have experience with UNSW RTP outcomes, particularly in Law & Justice? What are the realistic chances of receiving funding without a distinction average?
Any insights would be really appreciated. Thanks!
