Let’s start from the beginning.

KSI starts making MrBeast Esque content and while there’s a bunch of the videos hitting 5-10m+ views there’s also a portion that struggle to hit 2m and sometimes even 1m views. When excluding shorts for obvious reasons we can see that his base viewership isn’t so different in comparison to Covid times where the content wasn’t so time consuming since it was mainly desktop videos.

Now let’s talk about what’s happened recently. KSI and his editor Mo Syed reposted a clip about Vik saying that KSI with his personality can’t reach 100m views per month. Obviously VIK wasn’t talking about brainrot shorts/content in this statement. Then KSI starts boasting about his statistics and how high they’ve climbed even though a large portion came from a short of him slicing around with a katana. KSI then starts tweeting about being constantly put down and having it disguised as humbling him.

It’s clear things went down between KSI and vik behind the scenes in regards to this and it spiralled into KSI impulsively dropping his video on his channel. As we know if it were upto the sidemen they would’ve collectively come together and posted his departure on the sidemen channel but KSI took matters into his hands and got himself an extra 2m views to add onto those statistics he loves.

What do I think? I think KSI very much wants to be a bigger name and brand of his own for his “legacy” and that there were creative disagreements due to sidemen not wanting to do the MrBeast/brainrot type videos that he was suggesting so he starting doing them on his own channel. Now, anyone including KSI isn’t forced to stay in the sidemen of course but in this case the reasoning and the way it was done was very disrespectful to everyone including the sidemen. It completely overshadowed tobi and Ethan’s Socceraid. KSI on his own accord has been increasing his own workload with BGT, Ballers League, brainrot etc. and has effectively decided that the sidemen ranked lower than all these other ventures.

KSI has an unhealthy obsession with Statistics.
