Post Filters / Ban following Password Reset
Hi Reddit admins/mods,
My account u/Few_Cut_9864 was recently locked for “technical irregularities.” I received an email saying Reddit detected some technical irregularities on my account, locked it as a precaution, and instructed me to reset my password.
I followed the instructions exactly:
• I reset my password using the link from the official email.
• I can still log in to [u/Few_Cut_9864](/u/Few_Cut_9864) and access my account.
However, after doing this, two things are now happening:
1. When I view [u/Few_Cut_9864](/u/Few_Cut_9864) from another account, it says: “This account has been banned.”
2. Many (possibly all) of my previous posts, including posts that were up for years without issues, now show: “Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters.”
I have not received any clear explanation of a site‑wide rule violation or ban, only the generic security‑lock email about technical irregularities and resetting my password.
It looks like the security lock may have put my account into a banned or shadow‑banned state, and that the global filters are now retroactively catching my old content. I have:
• Changed my password to a strong, unique password not used elsewhere.
• Verified my email address.
• Enabled any available security features on my account (2FA, etc., as applicable).
Could an admin please:
• Confirm whether my account is banned, shadow‑banned, or just incorrectly locked.
• Review this as a possible false positive related to the “technical irregularities” security check.
• Restore normal status and visibility for my historical posts if appropriate.
I’m happy to provide any additional information needed to verify that I am the legitimate owner of u/Few_Cut_9864. Thank you for your help and for reviewing this.
