Key not releasing sometimes?
Hi! First time making a post here, please forgive any overt ignorance on my part. I'm not a car person whatsoever. Like, imagine a toddler trying to understand astrophysics. That's me, but with cars. For context, I'm a new owner of a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer.
So, I have this issue(?) where, when I park, sometimes my car doesn't wanna release the key. It turns the engine mostly off! But it doesn't turn all the way, and the key won't come out. I end up having to restart the car, reverse/drive a foot or so, then try again. Sometimes a couple times. I can't find much of a common thread with when it does this--whether my car settles a bit on the wheels when I take my foot off the brake, making sure I'm not touching anything when I DO turn the car off, trying the parking brake first, etc.
Are there any steps I'm missing? Any like, specific sequence I should do before putting it in park? I've tried looking this up, but all the other methods I find don't work consistently. This could totally be me being dumb, and if so, please forgive me. Like I said, my most impressive skill with cars is knowing the name of my own T-T.
Thank you so so much for your time!
