Why are these fremont homes not selling?

We are first time home buyers and are just starting our search. We saw a couple of houses in Ardenwood last weekend that we really liked and are in a good school district. However, they have been sitting on the market for many days and going through price reductions. Is there something we should know about this area/community prior to considering putting in an offer on one of them?
