Need help tapering my MD school list (accepting suggestions as well though!). NY applicant, 23, ORM.
cGPA: 3.53 (upwards trend, senior year cGPA was ~3.8)
sGPA: ~ 3.35 (same upwards trend as mentioned above)
MCAT: 497 --> 511 (129,126,129,127)
Volunteering
- Infectious Control Department: 250 hours
- Soccer program for kids with disabilities: 15 hours
- Will be volunteering at my local Boys and Girls Club: 250 anticipated hours
Research
- Lab research (studying the role of microglia in Alzheimer's Disease): 100 hours
- Clinical research (enrolling patients into certain studies going on in the ED): 200 hours
Clinical
- Medical Scribe in the ED at two different hospitals (urban and suburban): 700 hours
- Will be starting an MA position at a Cataract and Laser Eye Clinic: 1000 anticipated hours
Shadowing: 40 hours with multiple emergency medicine physicians
Hobbies: Soccer and Grilling
School List: Would like to get this down to 25, planning on applying to ~ 15 DO schools as well. Like I said, please mention any other schools that you think I should add (wish NY had more in-state friendly schools lol).
