Do I have to sit and wait?

Question

I currently suspect I have endo, and have talked with a gyno about it, and she said it's a definite possibility. The only option she's really giving me is birth control and then just waiting to see if my symptoms improve. Even she called it a bandaid, so is that really all I can do? I know people get laparoscopic surgery to confirm- but does that have to come after the waiting? My concern is what if it is endo and we just slap a bandaid on it? Like we just let it keep growing until it's unbearable? I feel like there has to be better treatment options than that, but i also know healthcare for women isn't usually as great generally.

But also what if it isnt endo and I push for a surgery and nothing comes of it? I know the symptoms I experience are real and valid, but I also don't think they are as bad as they are for other women, but I do have a high pain tolerance? Its very confusing.

I guess I just want to know if this is part for the course, and I have to wait it out, or if I should be advocating for something else/more. I appreciate any insight or advise you may have!
