Cant believe I let this sit in my backlog for so many years. I completed Ori and The Blind Forest on the steam deck some years back, and even though it's good, didnt really hit the highs to put it up my all-time favorites list, which is why I neglected the sequel for a bit.

Upgrading my phone a couple months back, from a Poco F1 (yes, F1, been using it for almost 8 years i think) to the Redmagic 11 Pro, and PC emulation became the new hotness for me. Slapped on it a Gamesir X5S, and it was my new console. Sorry RG476H, you will still be significant when I go back to the retro stuff.

Recently stressing out and completing Dark Souls 1 and 3 back to back, I decided to go back to one of my favorite comfort genres, metroidvania, and played Ori and the Will of the Wisps to just to take it off the Steam pile of shame. It didnt take long for the game's story, music, visuals, and gameplay to draw me in, full attention.

The best part is, I didnt use any guides on this one at all. True to its genre, I got stuck a little bit, but nothing a bit of exploring couldnt fix. It ran a steady 60fps at max settings, but I settled for medium settings to save a bit of battery and it still looks fantastic on the RM11Pro's oled screen.

The progression is at a perfect pace, from the exploration, to puzzle solving, racing side quests, pure platforming sequences, heart-pounding chase sequences, to highly engaging boss fights, this game has it all in spades. The heartfelt music and beautiful visuals, and smooth, responsive controls bind everything together to perfection. I think I used the word perfect a feww too many, but it is what it is. Add in a variety of customizable attack options, mobility skills like gliding, triple jumping, gliding, dashing, vaulting, swimming maneuvers, this game has a ton of it, and all have their moments of usefulness over the entire course of the game, and this game is now on my all-time favorites list.

I highly recommend this game to anyone, but for now, I am done and happy that I did, and 100% completed it. But in a few years, this is a game that i'd for sure pick up again.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps just jumped up a few notches in my favorites list. 100% complete through Gamenative on Redmagic 11 Pro
