From Australia to Southern Mississippi

Hey guys! I had a chance to visit friends in southern Mississippi last year and had a blast. I fell in love with the culture and quiet rural lifestyle and was thinking of moving there. What is the process like for an Australian with a mechanical engineering degree and about 5 years experience in manufacturing?

I was thinking of moving to the Gulfport-Biloxi area or even Picayune. What kind of jobs are available for people with my skillset and experience? Would they be receptive about hiring an Australian? I’ve read about the E-3 visa and how its more attractive to US employers but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I’ve seen jobs at Stennis but they seem to involve a security clearance which I don’t think I can get as a non-citizen😭
