Is gold stainless steel really waterproof?

Hey guys,

I've seen some people say that they wear their gold stainless steel pieces all the time without taking it off, even in the shower and they never lost their color.

Do you guys have any experience with that? I got some necklaces and it would kind of be a hassle to take them off all the time but I don't want them to fade or look bad.
