Minibike vs e gravel bike for off road commuting

I commute to work on dirt roads and trails. I am trying to decide between a minibike and an e gravel bike. Minibikes are fun but not legal on bike paths in my region while E gravel bikes are legal but more expensive. I have looked at both on marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba and found some that are really nice and I'm in to get one. A minibike is cheaper but needs registration while e gravel bike is more practical but slower. What do you use for off road commuting?
